Thank you

Thank you for your comments, your concern, your caring. Sometimes I sit and think about that while watching Nicole. She is hanging in there. No fever, which is good, but difficulty getting the other systems going, which is frightful. She is still pretty out of it, except for begging me not to leave her at night. It hurts to leave her. I will post more tomorrow as I hope to bring my laptop with me. Thanks again everyone.

The ICU nurses very kindly allowed me to sleep beside Jerry in a recliner chair the 1st 3 nights. Will they let you stay all night? She must be frightened....
Hugs and prayers.

Gins sent me over. I know how hard it is to have a child in the hospital. Hang in there and I will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts.

Dea Laura:

I think regardless of age, when we are ill, having your mama there is just good medicine. If they allow you to stay with her, ask for a "sleeper chair" so you can rest when she is sleeping.

I am sure they explained to you that oftentimes the intestines react to be handled - i.e. absent or sluggish bowel sounds. It usually resolves by itself in short order. To hear her belly rumble will be a good thing. No doubt this has been quite a shock to her system.

Take good care of yourself too.

Continued thoughts & prayers....

This is encouraging, I'm hoping each day is more encouraging than the previous day. It's understandable that you would have to go home on occasion, I'm sure you are with her as often as you can be. You are doing great, hang in there.

You are living every mother's nightmare: facing the serious illness of a child. You are living every widow's nightmare: doing so alone, without your beloved Leonard.

I am holding you tightly in my heart, gently in my prayers.

Laura,
I will be thinking about you and Nicole. That poor baby. She's so young to be dealing with all of that

I am praying that Nicole is recovering comfortably and that you are getting some much needed rest when you can. What a nightmare for you to see your girl so sick and I am so grateful they found the cause. I'm praying for peace for all 3 of you Laura during this very frightening time. You are loved.

No fever is wonderful!!! I'm hoping the other systems are fast to catch up, they just needed that infection out of the way. Still lots of fingers crossed and positive thoughts headed your way.

You've been through enough already, and so has Nicole. Not fair. Can't I send some of these problems to the asshats in Washington?

Sorry to make light. I'm thinking of you and hoping all is well, or at least, getting better quickly.
