Who's Your Tiger?

Mine is, this year, Miguel Cabrera...seeing as the Tigers got rid of my favorite, Craig Monroe, last year.

Yesterday we went to the Tigers game-Nik, James, Me and Nik's boyfriend-with a few friends I have made on an internet message board. It was good to see these friends and spend some time with them. The kids were happy because we made it in time for the promotional give away. It was a replica jersey from 1968, when the Tigers won the World Series over the Cardinals. Sadly, the Tigers did not repeat that win yesterday, but the game was exciting and I think everyone had a good time.

This week I am tying up loose ends (more like entire lengths) in order to take off for California and a visit with my brothers next week. I am sure not to get everything in order before then but a girl can try.

Oh my heart belongs to Kenney Rogers except he wasn't so loveable last night! Glad you got there in time to get jerseys!! Good for you. A few people I work with didn't make it on time and they are upset. Probably they should have had more available! Anyway, I'm bummed that they lost but can't complain too much about their record lately! Have a great time in CA!

Jacob and I had such a great time with you guys! Could you see how much he looked up to James? It was very sweet. When James came on our little walk, Jacob just chattered away at him, trying to impress him with his knowledge of history. And James was soooooooo sweet to him.

Thanks again, Laura. Let's do this again really soon.

Who's my Tiger? Al Kaline, of course! :)

I remember the '68 World Series so well! It was almost like a state holiday. I was in the 8th grade, and we had an assembly at school each day to watch the daytime games!

I lost track of the Tigers after we moved to Oklahoma. It's difficult to follow when you don't get the games on the radio or TV, but there is still a piece of my heart in Old Tiger Stadium.

I wish I had been with you at the game, but I'm glad you had fun!

Love,
Stella

Glad you guys got the jerseys. Is the pro basketball team there called the Bears, by any chance? Lions, tigers, and bears. Oh, my.

Relax and have a good time on your trip to CA.

Good luck getting it all done. I can't seem to get *anything* done these days...I spend all my time cleaning up Lil's messes! ;oP

Yeehaw, coming to California. Try to ignore the current problems with wild fires, insane heat and awful air quality and JUST HAVE FUN! Southern California, right? If you make it north let me know.
