Happy Holidays

We made it! And Texas was c-c-c-cold...but it has warmed up. With the exception of the mover being a little slow (mentally), the new oven having bad wiring, and James's bed being without the bolts, all went smoothly. Except...

Merlin has flown the coop. My old gentleman cat has been gone for over a week and I am losing hope that I will ever see him again. Please keep him in your thoughts.

A Happiest of Holidays to you all.

Happy Holidays. I hope your new home brings you a ton of joy. Happy New Year.

The first six months in a new home is my favorite part of moving. Military means we move a lot.

I love trying new grocery stores and learning all the layouts. I love trying new restaraunts and finding a favorite and then trying everything on the menu. Why is it all about food?

I love getting the lay of the land and learning a new short cut. etc. I hope you have a great time learning your new home.

Did you steal my uncle?? lol The gentleman in your picture looks like an uncle of mine who lives in Texas. I last saw him in Houston about ten years ago, but I believe he lives outside of Dallas now. Or at least I thought he did.

Congrats on the move. Maybe Merlin fell for one of those Suthern Belles, a kitty with a cute accent.

For what it's worth, a few years back our cat "escaped" from the pet shop where we had him boarded when we were on holidays. He "snacked" on a budgie or two before his great escape.

Although he was an outside cat, the shop was quite a distance from our home so my heart was heavy as he had been missing for days.

Lo & behold, he comes "knocking" on out front door just after midnight -- totally wet although it had not rained in days. He was as mad as a hatter and wouldn't "speak" to me for a few days.

So, keep the faith that Merlin will find the path to your door.

Your new home looks lovely - I love your fireplace. Hubby bought me one of cherrywood for the livingroom and another of light oak for the familyroom.

He bought them mostly as selling features as our house will be going on the market sometime soon - they make such a warm difference to any decor. The oak one matches my diningroom set so if it isn't part of the deal, it will look great in my new diningroom.

Isn't it funny how you do all the things/decorating you wanted to have done only to sell it? You go out of your way to renovate/decorate only to have others enjoy - or change it all!

I iwsh you truckloads of peace and happiness in your new "digs".

I hope you are starting to feel more settled in you new home. Did Nicole come down for Christmas?

I hope all of the little bumbs are smoothing themselves out as you are starting off your new year in your new home.

I hope Merlin has come back home. Moves are terribly scary for the feline ones.
